Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development, Inc. recently released its third video in a series highlighting the local community. The latest video showcases the entrepreneurial and career opportunities in the agriculture and agribusiness industry in Wicomico County. Watch the video below.
“Agriculture today is changing rapidly. There’s great demand for talent, innovation and new business ideas. We are well poised to be a national hub for agriculture innovation,” said Jake Day, Mayor of Salisbury. “Couple that with Perdue Farms’ recent announcement about moving its Learning Center to downtown Salisbury, and the future is bright as we continue to grow this important sector.”
The video features the many different aspects of agriculture and how it represents a way of life in the county and the region. From community gardens to hydroponics to large scale poultry operations, plenty of opportunities exist to start a business or begin a career.
“This latest video helps us convey to our viewers what we already know – and that is agriculture and agribusiness are the foundation of our economy,” said Wicomico County Executive Bob Culver. “The spectrum of jobs and opportunities to start new businesses are broad and we invite all to find out more about this important sector in Wicomico.”
Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development, is a public-private partnership founded in 1968 to enhance the area’s economy through job retention, job growth, and economic diversification.
