Sagamore Development Co. has a launched a new job training program aimed at getting local residents trained and hired for manufacturing jobs.
Sagamore, the real estate arm of Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank, launched the program along with the Foundery, the maker space inside City Garage in Port Covington, and the Center for Urban Families, a local nonprofit.
As part of the program, dubbed the "Manufacturing Bootcamp," an initial group of eight Baltimore-area residents took classes at the Foundery for seven weeks, four days a week starting in early November. Participants were selected by employees at the Foundery and the Center for Urban Families.
