This rumor has been out there for a couple weeks, but it looks like former MSU QB, MSU coach, CMU head coach, and Arkansas OC Dan Enos will be joining Jimmy's staff. It's still a bit unclear on what Dan's role will be as Michigan currently is way too top heavy on offensive coaches. Currently, Michigan has 3 offensive coordinators on staff which also include Pep Hamilton and Tim Drevno. I expect we will hear news about Pep and/or Tim in the next week or so.
Dan is a very good coach and left CMU to become a Power 5 OC. He is known as a good coach and recruiter. I also hope he fills the QB coach role as that position has been lacking under Harbaugh. Quick question, who calls plays against MSU next year? Asking for a friend. :-)
Since Jimmy seems to love former Arkansas coaches and maybe this some strange way to hire one moving company or something, but a name to watch is former Michigan offensive lineman Kurt Anderson as well. Kurt was a graduate assistant at Michigan, has coached at EMU, and spent the last 3 season at Arkansas serving as their offensive line coach. The rumor mill is that Dan Enos is very high on Kurt and could be a "no brainer" hire if both Pep and Tim move on.
- Michigan Basketball keeps beating bad Big 10 teams as they won on Saturday against Illinois. It gets much tougher this week as they play ranked Purdue and MSU.
- Michigan DE commit Aidan Hutchinson had a great Army All American game. Nice to see a Michigan commit playing well on a national stage.
- Big OC names move on or don't. Jedd Fisch did not get the Missouri OC role and Matt Canada was let go from LSU. I don't expect either to make it to Ann Arbor.
- NFL Official Jeff Triplette is expected to retire after he and his crew had a terrible game in the KC - Tenn, playoff game. NCAA Basketball official TV Ted Valentine is also considering retiring after he turned his back on a UNC player last week. Please more retirements and get better younger officials in place!
