During Michigan’s win streak this year when Michigan’s defense was shutting out opponents, I would keep looking at where Michigan D stood nationally, it was always behind Boston College. I also watched a bit of the BC – ND at Fenway and saw that Boston College had a very good defense and a equally terrible offense on the other side.
Per the Boston Herald: Brown, 60, led an Eagles defense that ranked No. 1 in the nation in total defense (254.3 yards allowed), was second in rushing defense (82.2) and eighth in pass defense (171.2). BC finished fourth in points allowed (15.3). Brown was named the 2015 Assistant Coach of the Year by the FBS American Football Coaches Association on Dec. 8.
So even though his name is a surprise, having BC’s DC Don Brown heading to Michigan shouldn’t be. He wasn’t even linked to the Michigan job and now (pending an official release) he is on his way to Ann Arbor. If you worried that it’s not completely 100%, Don has told his BC players and Jimmy is telling recruits.

He is not a traditional Jimmy hire as he is 60 years old but sounds like a great pick-up for a guy that could lead Michigan’s defense for many years and has head coaching experience.
- Michigan DB recruit David Long, De-committed to Stanford over the weekend. It’s a Michigan – Washington battle.
- Michigan made Isaac Nauta’s top 3 with Bama and Georgia.
- Carlos Kemp won the Denver Post’s Golden Helmet awards as Colorado’s Best Player.
- Kicker and PSU commit Quinn Nordin will take an official to A2 on 1/15, then to PSU and Baylor. I’m concerned about the scholarship numbers in his recruitment.
