Throughout the week, OED representatives will accompany County Executive Tari Moore as she visits businesses of all sizes from various industry sectors, learning about each unique operation and what impacts their bottom line.
In addition to conducting visits, the week’s programming includes several special events. On Thursday, May 26 at the Elkton Central Library, OED will host a workshop dedicated to assisting small businesses reach new markets. Secretary Jimmy Rhee of the Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs and Jessica Reynolds of the Maryland Department of Commerce‘s Office of International Investment and Trade will deliver presentations that discuss how small businesses can expand into domestic and foreign markets and do business with government entities. The day will conclude with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Lee’s Landing, with their new boardwalk concept to follow.
On Friday, May 27 from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m., OED will host an open house. The public is welcome to meet our staff and learn about available programs, new developments, and additional news on the horizon. Light refreshments will be provided.
