The Revenge Tour continues! Many might question that as a 28 point favorite, but the Wolverines didn't beat IU last year in regulation. It took OT for a win in Bloomington. Looks like its going to be cold for senior day and Michigan will have to guard against looking ahead to a trip to CBus after Thanksgiving.
Tale of the Tape
IU RB Coach vs. Mich RB Coach = IU
Michigan Everything else vs. IU Everything else = Michigan
Even though IU's former head coach is now OSU offensive coordinator things are pretty much the same for the Hoosiers. Which leads to a question: Does playing Indiana this week help the Michigan defense against OSU next week? The answer is yes!
Both teams like the spread with dink and dunk passes with the hopes an athlete finds some space for a TD. Payton Ramsey IU QB averages 7.5 yards per target which ranks last in the Big Ten, Dwayne Haskins averages 7.9 and is ranked 2nd to last. Can someone tell me how Haskins is in the Heisman race for throwing screens and slats all day?
Yell, Beat OSU if ……………….
- Shea Patterson leaves the field after the game 100% heathy
- Higdon last game in the BH has 150+ yards rushing
- Michigan gets a ton of snaps for Peters and Milton
- Tarik Black get his first TD in over a year
Yell, What's the deal with Indiana?...…………
- If this game is too close for comfort
- Michigan suffers some injuries
- The Wolverines are clearly looking past the Hoosiers
- This game reminds you of the John O'Korn snow game
IU is one of those teams that has always played Michigan hard but never wins. So much so that Jimmy hired Greg Frey a few years ago. That experiment didn't last long. Michigan's defense will see on ton of slants and runs when the defense is spread out. If Gary and Winovich can get pressure, it will be a long day for the Hoosiers. Michigan's offense should be fine as long as they don't go too vanilla. I expect Winovich to have a crazy senior day for his last game in the Big House, look for something like 3 sacks and 3 TFL's.
Indiana reminds me of Maryland, a team with talent that will probably have a couple big plays, but not enough for win. Michigan's biggest competitor in this game is Michigan. Play well, win the game comfortably, and stay healthy.
