Free office space in Columbia for Ellicott City businesses affected by floods

Through Kinglet, a pair of Columbia firms are offering space.

As cleanup from the historic floods in Ellicott City continues, it’s looking like business won’t be back to normal in the historic center of the community for quite a while.

Many businesses in the surrounding Baltimore area have stepped up where they can. In Kinglet’s case, that’s space to work. The Baltimore startup, which provides a marketplace for office space listings catered toward other startups, is offering space to Ellicott City businesses for free within two Columbia offices.

“After the floods, it was really a no-brainer,” said Kinglet cofounder Jeff Jacobson. “We have great space nearby that is furnished and ready to go, and had interest from some of our hosts. The Kinglet model is a perfect fit to quickly get these companies back in business.”
