Annapolis ed-tech startup secures funding from Sagamore Ventures, moves to City Garage

An Annapolis educational technology company has moved to Baltimore after securing $1.25 million in funding, including an investment from Under Armour Inc. CEO Kevin Plank's Sagamore Ventures.

CWIST has taken space inside of City Garage, the 133,000-square-foot former Port Covington bus depot that Sagamore Ventures has turned into an innovation hub for local entrepreneurs.

The investment is Sagamore's first in CWIST. Severna Park-based SFP Capital, a previous investor, was also part of the funding round. CWIST has raised $1.5 million in two previous rounds, and is looking to secure another $250,000, CEO Chris Sleat said.
