Rowdy Orbit Impact looks to tech jobs to help ex-offenders

For Rowdy Orbit Impact, it all started in a soup kitchen.

The startup’s parent company, digital media firm Rowdy Orbit, was working for the Maryland Food Bank, filming stories about the food bank’s clients who struggle to bring home enough food for their families. Jonathan Moore, Rowdy Orbit’s CEO, recalls becoming discouraged by the plight that seemed to follow the food bank’s clients, no matter how hard they worked to get out of poverty.

That’s when he and other Rowdy Orbit leaders decided they wanted their company to play a bigger role in helping people.
