Back in CES 2017, Asus had launched Asus ZenFone AR as the first smartphone dedicated to providing AR and VR experience to its users. This was achieved by using a modified Snapdragon 821 processor for the smartphone, thus enabling it with enhanced optimisation for Google’s augmented reality project – Google Tango.
The Taiwanese smartphone giant is now set to launch the device with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage in India today. The Zenfone AR launch starts at 2pm and you can catch it live here.
Specifications of the smartphone include a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display and runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. It is powered by a 3300mAh battery and comes with connectivity options like a USB 2.0 Type-C port, Bluetooth v4.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity. The smartphone carries hybrid dual-SIM (Micro+Nano) configuration.
The camera specifications include a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 primary sensor with features like dual-PDAF, 4-axis OIS, TriTech+ autofocus system, second-gen Laser Focus and continuous-focus. It offers 4K video recroding capabilities that are enhanced by a 3-axis EIS. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
