Jos. A. Bank’s IT chief Gary Merry had a problem.
As chief information officer, Merry was responsible for shaping the men’s retailer’s IT strategy in a way that would help grow the business without spending money on unnecessary tools, training or technology features. But he had no way of knowing which tools, training initiatives or techniques would provide the best return on investment.
So he started a company, Deep Run Security Services, to do just that.
“He came up with the idea because he didn’t have the tool to make the decision: Where’s the return on investment?” said Ken Chodnicki, Deep Run’s chief operations officer, recounting the company’s founding story.
