MGM National Harbor Opens in Prince George’s County

MGM National Harbor opens its doors today in the National Harbor waterfront development in Prince George’s County. The project is expected to have a significant lasting economic impact on Maryland, Prince George’s County, and the Capital Region, attracting visitors from Washington, D.C., neighboring states, across the country, and around the world. In addition to boosting tourism in Maryland, the MGM National Harbor is creating 4,000 new permanent jobs to operate the resort, according to a press release from Governor Larry Hogan.

“It is exciting to see a respected, world-renowned brand like MGM make such a significant investment in the future of Prince George’s County and the state of Maryland,” said Governor Hogan. “MGM National Harbor will have a tremendous economic impact on this region, and our administration has been proud to fully support this important project.”

While the resort doesn’t officially open to the public until 11 p.m. tonight, watch the short video below for a sneak peek into the resort. In the video Chairman & CEO of MGM Resorts International Jim Murren also discusses the resort’s opening and its impact.
