Michigan Thursday: Lands One of The Top Corners In The Nation

I love it when a plan comes together!

Michigan landed a very important recruit on Wednesday night, when 4 star Instate CB Ambry Thomas choose the Wolverines.   Many see Ambry as a bigger, faster more physical Jourdan Lewis, which is about the best comparison you can make.

During Nike's Opening 7 on 7 games, many of the WR's were hurt and Ambry played WR and was making great catches.   Thomas might play both ways and could make a difference on next years team.

Thomas is 5'11 and 170 pounds and played his high school football at MLK  in Detroit.  He is rated a 4 star recruit across the board.    24/7 loves Thomas and ranks him as the #3 CB in the country and #31 player in the nation.  His offer list is really long and I will include some of the top schools here:  Both AZ schools, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, LSU, MSU, Nebraska, ND, OSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, USC, UCLA, and Wisconsin.   Michigan State told Ambry that he was their #1 target on the Spartans recruiting board.

Again this is a great pick up right before a huge recruiting weekend.  There might be room for one more elite corner but with the numbers starting to get tight, this could also could be it.  I hope DP-J is next to drop!

As an FYI Thomas is cousins with instate safety commit JK-P.  Michigan now has 6 instate commitments to the 2017 class.

  • Coach Harbaugh and Fisch were in home with WR Tarik Black last night.

  • Caris LeVert played in his first NBA game last night and recorded 3 steals.

  • DP-J will take his official visit to A2 this weekend.  He will be an early commit, so he is on the clock for a decision.

  • Rumor Mill:  Lane Kiffin to Houston and Shane Morris to CMU?
