Breaking News: Michigan Basketball Picks Up a Grad Transfer

Michigan has picked up an Ivy League grad transfer PG from Columbia.  Mike Smith averaged 22.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists a game for the Lions last year.

Mike will fill the Zavier Simpson role and will compete against Eli Brooks for the starting PG spot.   This is a clear replacement for DD who entered the transfer portal earlier in the week.

Castleton's spot will hopefully be filled by 5 star Josh Christopher early next week.

You never know how a transfer from the Ivy League will preform in the Big Ten, but Mike won't have to average 22 a game in Ann Arbor and will only need to distribute the ball and play some defense.   We know he can shoot and distribute the only question mark will be his defense.

Michigan has grabbed transfer guards before and they have had a hard time getting minutes.  We hope that won't be the issue for Mike Smith.
