Michigan Tuesday: #2 QB

Michigan lost its #2 QB before the most important game of the season for a #2 QB - Rutgers.   You could have even made an agreement for McCafferty to start against the Scarlet Knights.    With his broken collarbone now he won't even make the trip to New Jersey.

That leaves true freshman Joe Milton and Outback Bowl starter Brandon Peters.  Both have positives and negatives to being the #2 QB.

Milton - has only been at Michigan a few months and probably doesn't have the greatest grasp of the offense.  Jimmy would also like to keep his red shirt.  Milton has played in 1 game and can play in 3 more while saving his RS.   I expect he will play against Rutgers.

Peters - knows the offense and has starting experience.  He was going to be the starter before Patterson rode into town.  Many believe he could transfer next year and needs some good tape to transfer to a top program.   I wonder where his confidence level is after being the expected starter to 3rd or 4th string.

If Saturday goes as planned, I expect both QB's will get a number of snaps.  One for the future of Michigan's program and another for the future of West Virginia's program?

  • Tonight is opening night for Michigan Basketball.  Two Banners will go up - Big Ten Tournament Champion and Final 4.   8:30 Norfolk State BTN.  It's also the opening round of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament

  • If your watching the recruitment of 5 star Zach Harrison, the crystal balls in his recruitment went from Michigan at 10% to leading at 54% yesterday.   Sam Webb said there wasn't any "event" to create all these CB's for Michigan.   Mom seems to be the biggest hurdle.

  • 2020 4 star DL Denver Warren decommitted from Michigan on Monday as well.  Denver said, Michigan didn't have room on the defensive line for 2020 now.  Which seems strange so early.  Sam Webb says Michigan is still recruiting DL for 2019 and 2020.   Sam also said that Warren decommitting as nothing to do Zach Harrison.
