Photos: Light City Baltimore gets underway with Lantern Parade

The wraps finally came off of Light City Baltimore on Monday evening.

The free week-long festival kicked off with the Creative Alliance's Light City Lantern Parade across the Inner Harbor from Rash Field to Harbor East. Thousands of people lined the harbor promenade to take in the event.

Light City brings 1.5 miles of light installations by dozens of artists, 50 concerts and 100 performances to the Inner Harbor for the week. The Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts is producing the festival, expected to cost about $4 million.
