Big Ten Weekend Preview Week 12

It's clear the Big Ten game of the week is in Madison and there really isn't a close second.  We will just review the huge lines this week in the Big Ten.

Rutgers at IU:  Both teams are 4-6 and looking for two more wins to get to a bowl game.   IU didn't really live up to its possibilities after leading Ohio State at half time in week 1.   Rutgers has played better this year and could sneak out with a win.  IU is -11 in this one.   IU 40 Rutgers 31

Minnesota at Northwestern:  The Wildcats looked terrible to start the season but have ended up being sneaky good at 7-3.  PJ is building a program at Minnesota as they continue to Row the Boat down the river.  I like Northwestern at home -7.5.   NW 24 Minnesota 17

Purdue at Iowa:  The Hawkeyes are great a home and terrible on the road.  They are playing at home and will win big.  Iowa is 7.5.  Iowa 28 Purdue 10

Illinois at OSU:  Buckeyes are -41.  I hope Lovie makes it through this year.  OSU 51 Illinois 14

Maryland at MSU:  The Spartans better be on upset watch this week.  They got run over by OSU last week and Maryland started to gain some confidence in the second half of the Michigan game.   If Maryland doesn't shoot itself in the foot on special teams, I think DJ can keep this one close. MSU is -16 in this game.  MSU 21 Maryland 17

Nebraska at Penn State:  PSU is -26 in this one.  This will be Nebraska's bowl game as they will be home for the holidays and probably looking for a new head coach next weekend.    Penn State is the better team but Nebraska will try to do something to save their season.  This will be close in the first half and then PSU will pull away.   Penn State 36 Nebraska 24

Including the Michigan game there isn't a line lower then a TD in the Big Ten this weekend (7.5 to 41 points).

  • Derrick Walton scored 20 points in his G-League debut.

  • Breaking News: Brady Hoke will wear a headset this weekend as Tennessee head coach. :)
