Wolverine Wednesday: A Few Injury Updates

24/7
Jimmy said on the Big 10 teleconference that if Tarik Black can't make it back for the Bowl Game, Michigan will apply for a medical redshirt.  Black got hurt in the 3rd game and I believe would still qualify for a medical redshirt.   Of course, we don't have any details on his injury.  We know he broke a bone in his foot and its been rumored that its a Lisfranc fracture (injury of the foot in which one or more of the metatarsal bones are displaced from the tarsus).  He has been on that little cart for a number of weeks but now is up and walking around.   With 11 catches this year, he is still Michigan's 5th leading receiver.

  • Isaiah Hole from 24/7 reports that Isaac and Higdon returned to practice on Tuesday, with an eye for playing on Saturday.  Being at practice so early in the week, is a very good sign.

  • Michigan snuck into the college football standings at #24 last night.   If the Wolverines end their season the right away, I hope to see them in the top 10.

  • An interesting 2018 DE prospect is Eyabi Anoma.  He is considered one of the top DE's in the 2018 class and will be visiting A2 next weekend for the OSU game.   He plays for Biff Poggi who you know was on Jimmy's staff last year and his son just scored his first TD for the Wolverines last weekend.   (BTW: It's great that Jimmy does that for players when playing in their home state!).  Eyabi is not a lock for the Wolverines, in fact just the opposite, insiders believe he is headed to Alabama.

  • Michigan Basketball has signed all 5 recruits in the 2018 class.   It also ranks as the #5 class in the country and a talented bunch for the Coach B to develop:
The Class of 2018 includes:
  • Ignas Brazdeikis, 6-8, forward, Oakville, Ontario (Orangeville Prep)
  • Colin Castleton, 6-11, center, Daytona Beach, Florida (Father Lopez Catholic HS)
  • David DeJulius, 6-1, guard, Detroit, Michigan (East English Village HS)
  • Brandon Johns, 6-8, forward, East Lansing, Michigan (East Lansing HS)
  • Adrien Nunez, 6-5, guard, Brooklyn, New York (St. Thomas More Prep)
