Michigan Friday: The Great Football Coaches Are In College

You know the names Harbaugh, Saban, and Meyer.  All of them are running college programs.   Here are the names that filled NFL head coaching jobs yesterday:  Koetter, McAdoo, and Kelly.   Of course, Chip is a brand name but the other teams are fishing out of the coordinator pool.

The Bucs fired a good head coach and promoted their OC, The Eagles will hire the OC from their former head coach and The Giants let go a Hall of Fame coach to hire it's own OC.    San Fran hires a former high profile college head coach that likes a lot of control.  That sounds like something that has worked and failed there in the past.   The more things change...........................

Speaking of coaching moves, the expected change on Jimmy's staff was confirmed last night.   Chris Partridge has been promoted to LB and Special Teams coach.   Many programs don't have the luxury of having just a Special Teams coach and now Michigan is combining that role as well.  This is great news for recruiting and he sounds like a good coach.

With only 3 recruiting weekends left, everyone is a big one.   Here are some of this weekend's visitors:
  • TX OL grad transfer Jake Raulerson
  • TE Chase Allen
  • Penn State commit DT Michael Dwumfour
  • PA Athlete (Safety) Khaleke Hudson
  • Maybe Kicker and PSU commit Quinn Nordin
  • DE Malcom Roach - Texas Commit
  • OT Stephen Spanellis - Virginia Commit

I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan got a couple commits this weekend.  Chase and Jake are officially on commit watch.   It also seems that Michigan might be in a bit of a battle with 3 recruits and two are PSU commits in Hudson (down to Mich - PSU), Quinn Nordin and Dwumfour.  Mike Dwumfour will get a taste of Greg Mattison as his position coach this weekend.   Penn State just lost it's popular DC Bob Shoop to Tennessee.
