BridgeEdU, an education technology startup founded by author Wes Moore, has raised $3.1 million.
The seed round comes from the Lumina Foundation, angel investors and other foundations. The money will go toward building out BridgeEdU’s first-year college program for low-income students.
BridgeEdU aims to help students successfully transition from high school through the first year of college, a choke point for many students. About a third of college students don’t make it through their freshman year.
